I want to set up a pair of bookshelf speakers in my room. The speakers will be at ear level when I am sitting down and will be placed on a sturdy desk nearby (if size permits). I am interested in bookshelf speakers because my room is too small and too crowded for anything else. The room is fairly dead with both wall-hung tapestries and heavy carpeting/drapes. I have looked at a few companies such as polk audio, paradigm, psb and klipsch (sorry, but i have never been a big fan of bose), but I am unable to make a decision on which model. Although the companies I have mentioned are favorable because I am familiar with some of their models and designs, I am certanly wiling to look at other companies if they feature desirable models. My question is what would be a good pair of bookshelf speakers to buy? My budget is $200-300 (I know that wont get me to much with companies like paradigm or psb) All I need is a brand and or model and if possible, a short review. Thankyou
Take a look at Jamo they have some bargains out there on a limited time basis right now, do not think they are cheaply made these speaker deals will fade away with time and the price will go up…they were recently bought out by Klipsch I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it….but Jamo has been discounting their close out lines…Jamo is a high end speaker company and makes excellent product..if I needed speakers right now I would get a set of Jamo quick….also I have been quite impressed with the reviews of the PBS speakers, PBS seems to spend a lit of time on design and R&R before they put out product, even though more expensive than the Jamo they seem to be worth it…very few other speakers will be.
