The 4 Channel Digital Video Recorder is an amazing piece of machinery if you think about it. You can install it anywhere that a person wants to record an image, just as long as it’s legal. You can’t put them in bathrooms and such places, but any public place you can. I used to install a lot of cameras at car dealerships. We used to put these things everywhere you can think of. On top of buildings, in the IT office, it the finance dept, on the sales floor, above the vending machines, above the mechanics working on the cars, and just about anywhere else you can think of. The general managers wanted to know that they could go back and look at whatever they needed whenever they needed.
There are instances where the cameras come in handy. It doesn’t matter if it’s when the customer is complaining that something is wrong with the car after they brought it in, when a car got stolen, or even when an employee decided to steal something. There are so many stories that I could tell you about when it comes to what people do and what people lie about, but I will save those till later.
We used to set different cameras up for different shots. We had one camera that its entire job was to focus on all the exits of the dealership and read the license plates of the cars going out. I believe there were about 6 cameras alone that read license plates. We had other camera that was used to watch employees during work hours to make sure they weren’t doing anything wrong or goofing off. Let me tell you, these people hated being watched, or at least thinking they were being watched. Some of the guys even quit work because they thought it was wrong for the general manager to be watching them. They might have been the reason that he put the cameras up in the first place, you never know. It wasn’t like the general manager just sat around all day and watched the cameras. He barely ever watched them unless he needed to go back and see what went wrong when it did. He was a busy guy, but the people that work there didn’t see it that way. They thought he was just being a pain in the butt.
People also have these cameras and 4 Channel Digital Video Recorder at their house. People love to watch what is going on around their house and make sure their safe. We have put up to 16 cameras in a house before, and it wasn’t even really that big of a house. The guy was adamant about having them though.
