Multimedia Video Clips as a Lecture Aid. $115.71 This inquiry was conducted in a high school chemistry class to examine if the use of video clips as a lecture aide affected the participation of twelve students and their capacity for retention of information. Data was collected in two ways: participation was recorded by taking tallies during discussions, and retention was determined by test and quiz scores. The data was analyzed by comparing two classes, only one of which used video clips. The use of video clips as a lecture aide did not necessarily improve participation during class discussions. The retention data showed that video clips seemed to help male students retain the information better than their female counterparts.
