I’ve recently upgraded my bt home hub. The main connection is wireless and operates fine. I’ve tried to connect a second computer via the usb cable, but experience problems with the network connection. The second computer is running wndows 98. I have set the network settings to obtain the IP adress for the network device I am using to connect automatically as instructed by the intallation software. Unfortunately this does not work and still fails to connect when restarted
I’m afraid 98’s specs now are not the minimum required for the Internet. USB connections are now not good enough because of the speed of data transfer. For instance my ISP does not support 98 or USB anymore.
Windows 2000 or later and Ethernet [NIC] connection.
That’s the reason why your having the problems setting the 98 up.
