Here’s some more details: I have 200+ standard dvds that i don’t want to get rid of. My TV is a 65″ 1080p DLP. I do eventually want to get an HD or Blue-ray player but will wait to see which one becomes more prevalent.
Or, buy the Toshiba HD-A2 (or A20) HD DVD player now, get 5 free HD DVDs and use t as both an (excellent by all reports) upconverting DVD player and a HD player for the occasional HD DVD as well. At worst you have spent about $150 more than a resaonable upconverting player and have the option to buy Blu-Ray later (if it wins the format war) when it comes down in price.
