Well about a month ago the right front speaker gets louder the tweeter does and sounds distorted than the other ones and fades in and out and it goes back to normal I have an alpine cd player powering them. Is it blown and how do you test a blown speaker. Ive taken it apart and switch the speaker with the other one and it still does it could I have blown both speakers they look okay. sometimes I do hear crackling noise or a little static on both of them sometimes actual sounds like rice cripsies. I do blare the music a lot but the bass is down to a -2 and treble is +5 and balance is even. I think there blown but just want a second opion also how do you test blown speakers.
to test a speaker cone, i simply put even pressure on opposite sides of the speaker with my fingers and i push down lightly, evenly with both fingers. then i let the cone come back up. during this, if you are putting even pressure on both sides, and you feel like, (and or hear) a scraping feeling, then it’s blown. as for tweeters, they just usually sound bad. the situation you have explained here sounds like your stereo is messing up. to verify this, get another stereo, hook it up, and listen. also, realize that the way the sound track was recorded may also effect the output to each speaker, as well as the environment and equalizer settings in your stereo (if it has these functions).
