Ok I have a Sony Surround system but do not know how to hook my Sharp TV to it or My PS3 please help.
There are multiple possibilities to resolve this. Here are a couple that may help.
Unless you have a crappy home theater in a box type surround sound system, your receiver should have multiple inputs. You will connect the TV an input (usually either TV, Cable, or Satellite) and then connect your PS3 to another input. Since many receivers don’t have an input designated for game consoles, you can choose any input not in use. Just remember which one it is.
With it set up like this, depending on whether you want to watch TV or play a game, you will have to change the input selection on your receiver. This tells the receiver which device to play sound from.

Another possibility is to connect your PS3 directly to your TV. Then run a cable from the audio out of the TV to the audio in of the receiver. By connecting it like this, you will not need to select a different input on your receiver, but select a different TV input to play and hear your PS3.
