I have two subwoofer box that holds two alpine type e’s 10”. One of them is blown, so i was wondering if i could just replace it with any other ten. if you can replace it does it need to be around the same wattage. if you can’t switch in any subwoofer would running one sub out of a two sub box be okay?
It would be ideal to purchase another alpine type e so it matches exactly. You can get another sub that is less powerful but then you would not be able to turn the volume up as high without blowing it. Even if you do get another sub with the same power handling, every sub has different sound specs and your music may sound just a little distorted if you listen closely. Depending on what kind of box you have you may be able to tightly fit in a blanket or pillow to seal the hole where the sub was if you can’t switch in another one.
