I have a Sony PS-LX250H that I’d like to put in my bedroom. It needs to be hooked up to a stereo. I’d like to get a smallish one so it won’t take up a crapload of space in my room. I’m just worried, though, about going out, purchasing a stereo, and then finding it doesn’t have the right jacks to be hooked up to my turntable. Can anyone make any recommendations?
Whichever unit you decide to look at, just ask the sales person, or look for something that’s called a PHONO INPUT – if it does not have a phono input, you cannot directly plug in your turntable. Chances are every new unit you look at will have AUX INPUTS or LINE INPUTS – and the only way to connect your turntable to those inputs, is to purchase a phono pre-amp – http://djproaudio.com/Store/Search-Results?keywords=pre-amp
Just plug the turntable to the pre-amp, then you can plug into any input source in your stereo.
