What are the potential risks of doing this?
You will probably damage the stereo before damaging the subs. Home theater systems are designed for higher impedence speakers (6 or 8 ohms normally) that are much more efficient and require much less power than car stereo equiptment.
I don’t suggest it, but if you must, check out the stereo’s ohm load capabilities and wire the speakers accordingly.
….and don’t expect alot of sound from them.
