I want to connect speakers from 7 rooms thru a speaker selector, and connect them to a Denon 4306. This is in addition to the 7.1 surround in the family room home theater. Does anybody have suggestions on configuring amps .. how many.. capacity etc to meet this configuration?

If your Denon has a zone 2 output on it, you’ll want to purchase a multi-zone amp to run all the other speakers. One thing to keep in mind, you’ll have no control over the other rooms, unless you ran IR routing cables. The ideal is to run 14 channels of amplification so that each room has its’ own amp. There are a number of 12 channel multi-room amps on the market. Running a speaker selector is not the recommended way to run multi-room anymore, that is why you don’t see any pros doing this type of install.
