…as long as I calculate the impedance and wattage to match the output of the amplifier?
For example, say i have a 100 watt, 16ohm amp. Could I wire 2, 25 watt, 4 ohm speakers and 1, 50 watt, 8 ohm speaker in series and connect it to that amp? Here’s a diagram:
Amp (+) —25W, 4Ohm——25W,4Ohm———50W, 8Ohm–l

16Ohm
And could I get some sources, please? I have conflicting answers.
You can wire speakers in series, but the volume may be so low that you may have to turn up that amp louder than normal. Resistance UNDER the rating is BAD, resistance ABOVE OR EQUAL TO the rating is OKAY, as long as you don’t stress it by cranking the volume.
……And be careful how high you crank the volume in a setup like that. You may overheat something.
