I’m looking for a stereo receiver for surround sound that can be hooked up to a PS3 or Xbox 360 and that I can hook up an ipod to. Does anyone know anything about this or can give me a good brand?
You didn’t mention a price range, but I would recommend the Onkyo TX-SR606 ( http://is.gd/3Afn )
Onkyo is one of the hottest brands in receivers right now due to their high performance, great quality, lots of features and really good pricing. The TX-SR606 is “iPod ready” – once your iPod is docked, can actually control the iPod via the receiver’s remote. It has HDMI 1.3a switching which passes audio *and* video (on cheaper surround sound receivers, they just pass the video, so you have to run separate digital audio cables) and it has the latest home theater decoders – DolbyTrueHD and DTS-HD – for uncompressed surround sound, which you’ll definitely want if you’re going to use a PS3 to watch Blu-Ray movies.
