The light on the end of the optical glows when I plug it into the back of m HD cable box and it runs sound when I plug it into my Sony HTCT-100 surround reciver. But directly from the Vizio to the surround reciver I get nothing and no glow???
hmmm, is there any setting in the tv menu to turn on “digital” sound or “optical” or “Toslink” ..
or maybe the vizio only uses the optical port when something is being broadcast in dolby or dts.
