My local theater is converting to digital and scrapping the old 35mm film systems. There are 8 projectors and platter setups. There is a drive in theater for sale near where I live, with only the screen and the land, nothing else. What do I need to open it? The projectors are capable of a 4000w bulb which is sufficient for the throw of the screen.
I am actually a projectionist at a different theater, so I wouldn’t need to immediately search for a projectionist.
Wow! First, this sounds like a really cool and nostalgic business idea. Have you talked with the drive in theater to see if they would be willing to make a deal with you? Can you work there and gain some experience of operating a drive-in theater? My local drive-in has a swap meet on Sat and Sun mornings as a way to earn some income too.
