What are these? Examples of wat each one is used for would be great. Also, if i buy a car stereo, what accessories would i need to get an ipod hooked uP? Any info will helpp. thanks
An aux input is used when you want sound from another external device to play through the speakers in your car. Like an I POD for intanse. CD players with and aux input will eigther be RCA or a head phone jack. So you can take a headphone to headphone cable if you aux input is a headphone jack or you us a headphone to RCA Cable if the input is RCA. Or an aux input is used when people add a dvd player to their car and they want to run the sound from the DVD to the speakers in the car. When you think AUX just think sound in.
Your Preamp outputs are going to be used say if you want to add subwoofers or a highs amp to your system. Basically those outputs would send the sound signal to your aftermarket amplifier which boosts the signal and sends it out to the source like subwoofers or speakers. When you see preamp just think sound out, the opisite of AUX. Preamp can also be used for an equlizer hook up.
USB in put is basically the same thing on your computer. Universal Serial Bus. Its just another means of taking something from and external device and playing the sound through your stereo system. Like you know those little USB memory sticks you can buy. you can actually put MP3s on the memory stick and plug it into your usb port on your cd player in the car and play the music
Ive done profesion car audio, video and alarm installation for like 15 years now. Right now if you want something for a good price that puts out the best sound and allows you to easily play your Ipod. Get like a Pioneer CD Deck. Dont get anything under the DEH-3900 though. Then who ever you buy the Deck from tell them you want the ipod adapter so that you can play your ipod. I think the model number on thet is CB-IB100 and that will allow you to plug your ipod into the cd player and play your music. It will charge the ipod at the same time and you can control the ipod on the CD deck itself.
