I’m getting freaked out to use this thing in my apartment. Every time I plug it in, it causes a big orange spark. What is causing this? This is the SECOND power cord I’ve had for this laptop. It sparks when it is plugged into the computer, and also when I plug it into the wall without it being connected to the computer. Please help this is freaking me out. I don’t need to cause an electrical fire in my building. I’m very concerned.

I would say you have a defective charger. Sparks are not supposed to come out of a charger, at all. I’m assuming you purchased the chargers on Ebay or Amazon. Although they are great resources to find products you may need, they are cheap, money and quality wise.
Whenever someone comes into the store asking about chargers, we direct them to TopMic. You can find them through google. Every customer that I’ve referred to TopMic never had any complaints. You should definitely check them out.
