I have a Philips dbp 3000 blu ray player and it has been fine apart from when i tried to play a bbc dvd on it. The disk will start up fine by giving the copyright details etc and then will go on to licensing screen and then onto the BBC icon screen. After that it should go to the top menu to allow me to select an episode, but this screen does not appear. On the menu option it is indicating that there is nothing to play. I have tried the disk on a normal DVD player and it is fine.
Any help would great!!!!!!
It could be a protected DVD or one with a non-standard menu system.
Some also have extra features that work on a PC, and the DVD has extra data files in addition to the video content which may confuse the player.
It’s also possible that the DVD is just plain faulty – it’s not that common but it can happen.
One last possibility is that the played needs a firmware update. They are available for that model, have a look through the page link below.
