I’ve read a little bit that says don’t buy an OEM. Does it really matter? They seem to be roughly $50 cheaper.
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), in this case, means that the lamp is meant to be sold to the company that makes the projector (Epson or Proxima, for example). They typically don’t have the same fancy packaging as the product meant for sale to a end-customer. And they may not carry the same warranty — which may be why they are cheaper.
Otherwise, they are likely the same product.
