I know that technology for receivers, TVs, and everything else is constantly moving forward but what about speakers? The reason I ask is because I have the opportunity to purchase 2 brand new Klipsch F-3 floorstanding speakers for $199 each because they are discontinued. My holdout is that I won’t be able to use them for 2-3 years and I don’t want them if they are going to be obsolete at that point. What are your thoughts?
Those speakers get pretty high ratings so they probably will not get out dated in fact they may go up in value especially if you are getting a really good deal, and you are also getting the original boxes and paperwork… I know there are some older Klipsch models with the Tractrix horn that supposedly are worth more now because the newer ones do not have that horn any more…you need to have and keep the original boxes though and all paper work related to the speakers you may even want to get brochures on those speakers, while they are still available, the more paperwork and the less wear they show the more they will be worth in the long run…
