I’m starting a new techno music project with a friend of mine, and we have our songs pretty much ready. My only problem is that I don’t know how to get the backtrack [already recorded audio] from the computer to an amplifier or PA system. Is there a certain converter box or cord that I need?
I’m using a standard Macbook with a Firewire port and two USB ports, as well as a headphone jack. The backtracks can be run with Garageband, but will most likely be played as mp3’s through iTunes.
Well just about any amp or PA system ought to have RCA inputs, and a 3.5 mm headphone to RCA adapter should be easy enough to find and they’re quite cheap. I personally use this method with my Home Audio/Intercom system and it works great.
