Ineed to choose between two of these AVR’s very soon. 1. The Denon AVR-3801 and 2. The Denon AVR-589. I dont know which one to choose, but I will need to know very soon. I will be powering some Polk Audio Monitor 60’s. And just to throw it out there, if it is drastically better, Harman Kardon AVR 1600. I need to make up my mind soon though, thanks for all the help.
Ok, if it helps, I am only 14 and I do not need the HDMI. Also, I am getting the Denon AVR-3801 for about $200. My room setup is my computer audio via L/R cable, my PS3 which is composite, and my iPod which is L/R to 3.5mm. PLEASE KEEP THE ANSWERS COMING PLEASE! Thank You.
If its for home theater the AVR 589 is going to be better but for strictly music the AVR 3801 would be better as it has inputs for a phonograph, but no HDMI inputs what are a must have for Blu ray but seriously both of those receivers are outdated, if its strictly music there are better choices and for home theater also, for gaming they might both be OK but they are limited to that… unless you are getting a tremendous deal on them, you might want to look for something more modern.??? You could get a newer high tec receiver from Onkyo for $300 to $400??? and a Yamaha for under $300 that will have twice the technology and more HDMI capability…
