ok so i have a sony xplod 1200 watt subwoofer and a kenwood 600 watt amplifyer on a 2000 dodge dakota 2wd. ok so i already killed one battery… it lasted about 2 weeks before it died but it was an old one. so we bought another duralast gold battery.
i dont feel so secure anymore that this new battery will last that long.
its a duralast GOLD. with 950 crank amps and 730 cold crank amps.
this one guy at autozone told us to buy a capacitor to save the battery.
please tell me what i need to do… buy a better battery?
buy a capacitor?
buy an altornator??
please help me.. because idunno what to do because i dont want to piss everybody off and have to buy a new battery because the power killed it
You don’t have to worry. That duralast gold is actually a very good battery for that system. The good thing is you’d get a free jumpstart & free replacement if the battery does die, which you hopefully won’t need. But as long as you don’t run your system for a long time with the engine off, you’re most likely ok.
