I want to get a Sony STR-DH510

go to a best buy location that has the magnolia home theater section and have an audio expert discuss all the connections behind the next generation of receivers the audio expert will go over all the connections , their purpose, and ultimately why they are an important must have for home theater. you parents will be able to see what a receiver with such connectivity can do for you since the receivers are setup in a theater room with a large HDTV or HD projector. you can also select a particular brand of speaker you want to hear with the receiver you want. FYI magnolia home theater only sells mid range to high end home theater equipment with very few if any entry level equipment which means audio equipment here is going to cost a couple Hundred dallors slighly over a thousand depending how much you want to spend. but at least you be able to convince your parents why you want a new receiver. also the sony STR-DH510 is an entry level receiver which means it may not be available at the magnolia but it should be avialable on the best buy floor.
