None of the available aspect settings on the TV will show a full frame 1920 x 1080 JPEG put in from a new Blu-ray Disc Player (or from the older players that have been tried). The best image excludes about 50 pixels from each side and about 20 pixels from above and below, so not only is the quality compromised, but the image is very slightly squeezed as well.
Thank you very much for your answer. I don’t know how to set the TV to FULL or Standard aspect. I have tried what appear to be all of the available options, which are “Full” (which is by far the best, but crops the image as described), “H stretch”, “Zoom”, and “Wide Zoom. In the manual “Zoom” is described as,”Select to enlarge the picture horizontally and vertically to fill the screen while maintaining the aspect ratio.” However with “Zoom” the image is severely cropped.
You could have the TV set for “justified” aspect ratio, which looks exactly like what you described…You want FULL or Standard aspect, not justified.
