Ive been recording my tapes to dvd but i noticed they only have single speaker output. Its not much of a problem and hardly noticable, but I was wondering how you output it with audio on both sides? I realized i only have one audio jack in the back of my vcr. Its input with 2 RCA ports, one video, one audio, and output with 2 RCA ports. This is the same with my camcorder, it only has a video and audio input that i use with a video, audio L and audio R on my dvd recorder.
Unfortunately, The outputs from your VHS recorder is monoraul. You can use a single RCA cable to go from the VHS and the other end a dual plug from that for both sides of the DVD. It’s mono, but at least you’ll get sound on both speakers.
You can go to Radio Shack or anywhere like that and ask for a cable with 1 RCA plug on one side to Two on the other. It’s a pretty common setup. Or you can get an adapter; it’s called a’Y’ adapter. its made from metal and has 2 rca jacks on e side and a single plug on the other side. You can plug the input from the DVD into the two sides and the output from the VHS into the other side (single).
Make sure you get shielded cables or you can have poor quality audio.
