Hi,
Im setting up a home theatre system in a loft space and know very little about sound systems. I have a panasonic Viera G25 54″ that I would like to get some sound for. I was looking at the Mythos 5 system from Definitive Technology and then the Onkyo TX-SR608. Main questions are:
1) Are these good choices in general? Open to any and all suggestions. If I could get away with spending less for similar performance I am all for it.
2) Are there any considerations I should be making because it is in a loft space and will not be in an enclosed room.

That actually sounds like a great system. Definitive makes some great speakers. While I might agree that some Dennon or Yamaha receivers might sound a bit better for music – you wont notice much difference for movies. And Onkyo TX-SR series have a reputation for packing in lots of bells and features for a great price.
The only issue with a loft space is the sub woofer. You may want to buy a second sub a year or two down the road to handle that space. Or skip the DefTech sub and get a Cylinder sub from SVS woofers.
