I know that I can just “listen and be able to tell” but I’m wondering if there is any technical audio design reason(s) why a cabinet speaker should not be placed on the floor, especially if it’s a taller-than average speaker (not a cube speaker). Thanks!
The idea is actually very simple…You want the TWEETERS of the speakers at EAR level (of your listening position)…Very few people actually sit and listen to music these days so it doesn’t matter…But for movies and what not, where you’re planted on the couch, you’d want those tweeters at ear level.
