Your PC, as is, is pretty good! The only suggestion I’d like to pitch in for an upgrade is to upgrade your X1950. Even though the X1950 is still a pretty decent GPU, it won’t be able to cut the mustard in the latest games at maximum settings.
How cheap do you need this to be? A killer GPU you can get is this GTX 460:
