I just purchased a pair of Paradigm Atom v6’s last week. They sounded great in the demo room and I heard nothing but great reviews about this speaker. The atom is the smallest member of the Paradigm Monitor series lineup.

No wattage really doesn’t determine loudness. The main factor that determines the loudness is how efficient the speakers are. In your case, your speakers are 90dB efficient. So that means that they can produce music/sound at 90dB being driven by only 1 watt. If you double the power output of the amplifier, you only gain 3dB. So twice the power does not mean it’s twice as loud. You need roughly 10 times the power output to be twice as loud.

But to answer your question, you should be fine driving the Paradigms with your Onkyo. They are pretty modest speakers so you don’t really need a powerful amp to drive them. However, if you do get those speakers, you are also going to need a sub because small speakers can’t reproduce the low-frequency bass that tower speakers and subwoofers are capable of. With a room your size, I probably would go with a good pair of tower speakers and forget about a sub. For my bedroom setup(a 10×12ft room) I have a pair of Cerwin vega VE-12 towers and they sound great, especially with movies. And since they have 12” woofers, they are capable of producing deeper, louder, cleaner bass than most low to mid tier subwoofers.
