I keep hearing a high pitch noise in my home.It makes me feel nausiated sometimes and I saw a devise at a spy shop that does this.Does anyone know anything about this?How to stop it?I think my X has something to do with this.PLEASE HELP.
There are a number of issues here which have little to do with the recording of a noise but here goes…
Microphones are limited at the top end to about 15kHz unless you get a really high quality condenser, so it begs the question -why would you want to record it? How will that help?
First off, I must say that there are a million and one things you could think of to upset someone, and this would be a fairly bizarre method… So you should concentrate on trying to find the source of the noise. Get someone to help you track the noise down, and remember younger ears can hear higher frequencies. Try turning different things off to see if the noise goes away – If that doesn’t help try turning off the power entirely (at the fuse/breaker box) to see if it a problem outside your house or even with your hearing.
It seems that the most common source of high-pitched noise in the home is a PC monitor or TV, so these should be the first places to look.
