I just set up a stereo in my mancave .. got a yamaha receiver, two polk-audio bookshelf speakers, and two bose 151 indoor/outdoors .. all mounted for maximum stereo surround sound. I bought some speaker wire at the hardware store and don’t really feel that i’m getting maximum output from the setup. Does it matter what speaker wire I use? Is the more expensive stuff really worth the $$? Any ideas for maximizing my sound with the equipment i got?
As long as the wire is thick enough, you’ll be ok. Some 16awg should work just fine for that setup. partsdirect.com has a good selection.
And double check that all the polarities are correct. That makes a huge difference. Also experiment with speaker placement because there could be some cancellation issues.
