I bought 1 turntable. I set the whole turntable up. But how do you get it to work with serato scratch OR virtualdj? Do I need a mixer? It comes with a built in pre amp. It gives me choices between phono and line out. I have the USB plugged into my pc and I have the pre amp set at line out. It is hooked up to my computers line in port.
In the options for your software, you should be able to select your sound card’s line-in jack or the turntable as a USB device as a source. You really only need to hook up the turntable via USB or line-in. No reason to use both.
And yeah… the other guy is correct. If you plan on scratching with the turntable, a cartridge for that purpose is recommended. It doesn’t have to be expensive, just designed for that purpose. The cartridge that comes with the AT table has an elliptical stylus which can sound better than the conical stylus generally used on scratching cartridges, but it’s shape is harder on records during scratching.
