I have 2 speakers which are each 4 ohms that came from a CD Player unit and sound crystal clear. I want to be able to connect these two speakers to my simple DISH Network satellite reciever via the RCA output connections on the receiver. The speakers have RCA connectors and when I simply plug in the wires from speakers to the left and right audio outputs on the back of the reciever I get no sound. How do I solve this problem?
I get video since I connect the video output to TV input but no audio in the speakers. Do I need an Amplifier? I want to avoid using the TV speakers and want to use my own external speakers. Do I need to splice the speaker wires and get a different type of connector?
Yeah you basically need an amp like everyone else has said. Be careful which amp you get though so you dont overpower your speakers. You need some way to find out how many watts your CD player was putting out so you can get an amp of corresponding power. Then you’ll probably have to cut the connectors off of the speaker wires and use whatever connections the amp has.
A simple solution to record from a modern RCA(chinch) device,with an old DIN plug device!
