After running the erase all content and settings my ipod touch only has the apple logo like your starting it up with a little loading ring around it. Every so often it will shut off and turn right back on and repeat only having the apple logo and rings. I just bought the used ipod and had not even hooked it up to sync with my existing itune account.
You should go to the apple store if you have a warranty and tell them what is going on and surely they will fix it for you
